The Snow Finally Returns
The wonderful World of Graeagle was finally blessed with a beautiful snowfall overnight. I was won
dering if winter would return, especially since we have the Historic Longboard Races and Lake Davis Sled Dog & Snowshoe races fast approaching. Driving wasn't too crazy this morning, though the roads were a bit icy. Cal-Trans did an excellent job of plowing the top layers of snow and leaving the sand behind for better traction. Historic Longboard Revival Series
The Historic Longboard Revival Series returns on Sunday, February 15th. Also scheduled is the March 15th World Championship Longboard Races, weather permitting. This 
gala event recreates the racing atmosphere back in the "good old days." Right down to the period clothing and authentic skis, this race is truly something to experience. Lake Davis Sled Dog & Snowshoe Races
The 9th Annual Lake Davis Sled Dog Races returns, Friday to Sunday, February 27 through 
March 1st at Lake Davis, Portola, California. The races offer family fun for everyone and feature such planned events as a learn to "Ski & Bike With Your Dog," snowshoe rentals, sled rides, historical sled dog display, weekend barbecue & refreshments, and a Saturday Night Community Potluck, Music & Student Art Show at the Feather River Community Center. Kids can get their pictures taken in a Dogsled with REAL sled dogs! And, the Chalet View Lodge is generously reducing their rates for participants and will also feature a Dinner and Live Celtic Music by "Gairin," Saturday, February 28th at 6:00 pm.
